Association of Language Testers in Europe

The Association of Language Testers in Europe ( ALTE ) is an organization for providers of foreign language tests. It has 34 members and can examine 26 languages. The concept was designed in 1989 by the University of Cambridge and the University of Salamanca . In 1990 the association's first meeting with eight founding members took place.
