Athittayawong
Athittayawong ( Thai สมเด็จ พระ อาทิตย วงศ์ - Somdet Phra Athittayawong ; * 1618 in Ayutthaya , Thailand ) was king of Ayutthaya for 38 days in 1629 and is listed as the 23rd (or according to other counting, 24th monarch) of Ayutthaya.
Life
Athittayawong was the second son of King Songtham of the House of Sukhothai and the younger brother of the previous King Chetthathirat . After Chetthathirat was killed by the Minister of War Chao Phraya Kalahom Suriyawong ( เจ้าพระยา กลาโหม สุริย วงศ์ ), he put the ten-year-old Athittayawong on the throne and took over the reign.
After less than a month, the nobles and officials decided that the king was too young for his job and declared Suriyawong the new ruler. He took the throne name Prasat Thong and ruled from 1629 to 1656.
