Top hits outside, taste inside is the second studio album by the German hip-hop group Fettes Brot . It was released on September 30, 1996 by the Alternation label. The title of the album by Fettes Brot is an allusion to an advertising slogan for Toppits - freezer bags from Melitta : "Toppits outside, taste inside". It includes guest appearances by u. a. Dendemann and Majubiese (as poor knights ), Max Herre (from Freundeskreis ), Master P and Elundemann (from Blumentopf ), Spax and Tobi (from Der Tobi & das Bo ).

Top hits outside, taste inside entered the German album charts on October 14, 1996 and stayed there for a total of 15 weeks. The highest ranking was at number 10. The single Jein , which was released from the album, entered the charts at number 99 on April 22, 1996 and stayed there for 23 weeks with a best ranking at number 10.
criticism
Bettina Dunkel from Puls wrote that with the album Fettes Brot succeeded in “polishing up the hip-hop image”. The style of the band on the album is compared to that of the Beastie Boys . The reviewer praises the pun of the texts and describes the content of the album as a “casual rhyming battle in telling everyday stories”.
