geography

Aue is about 14 km south of Naumburg (Saale) .

history

In 1295 Aue was first mentioned in the history of the Naumburg Monastery . The place was once laid out as an anger village.

Like Molau, Aue belonged to the northern part of the Eisenberg district office until 1826 . The Wettin district office in Eisenberg belonged to different Ernestine duchies due to several divisions in the course of its existence . In 1826, Molau and Aue came from the Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg to the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen and became part of the Camburg exclave. From 1922 to 1939 they belonged to the Camburg district department . Until 1952, Aue belonged to Thuringia like most of today's districts of the municipality of Molauer Land .

On January 1, 1957, the previously independent municipality of Aue was incorporated into Molau . As a result of the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Abtlöbnitz , Casekirchen , Leislau and Molau to form the new municipality of Molauer Land , Aue has been one of eleven districts of this municipality since January 1, 2010.
