Oberhausen-Süd represents one of a total of 42 statistical city districts in the Bavarian city of Augsburg and is assigned to the Oberhausen planning area . On December 31, 2013, around 6,150 people lived in an area of ​​1.381 km².

Oberhausen-Süd borders - beginning in the north and then following clockwise - on the districts of Oberhausen-Nord , on the left the Wertach-Nord , on the left the Wertach-Süd , Kriegshaber and Bärenkeller . The borders follow - following the same course - the railway body towards Donauwörth , the Nordfriedhof, the Bürgermeister-Bunk-Straße, the banks of the Hettenbach , the Ulmer Straße, the railway towards Ulm and the Obere Schleisweg.

Demographics

Attractions

The Augsburg gasworks went into operation in 1915 and, with its eight hectare site, has in part a park and castle-like character. It is considered a monument of European standing and is unique in Bavaria. Almost all of the buildings have been preserved to this day and two different types of gas containers (telescopic and disk gas containers) can be seen. The entire gas works with the gas boiler has been shut down since 2001 and is currently being converted into a museum.
