Lechviertel

Main article: Augsburg-Lechviertel

The Lechviertel is characterized by its old and narrow streets, whose historic cobblestone paving has been restored since the 1980s. The district also has a special flair due to the Lech canals , which were mostly covered after the Second World War , but have since been exposed again. Small boutiques , bars and pubs in particular have settled in the winding streets , making the district a magnet for Augsburg residents as well as tourists.

Eastern Ulrichsviertel

Main article: Augsburg-Ulrichsviertel

The Ulrichsviertel differs from the adjacent Lechviertel mainly in the architectural style of the houses: Many handcraft houses from the Middle Ages , some of which are still in operation today, are characterized by the characteristic plain tiles on their roofs. In some parts of the district the old city wall is still there and invites you to take a walk. The bar scene is spread over the entire district and creates its own atmosphere with numerous small shops.
