The city district is enclosed in the west by the Lech , in the north by the Augsburg - Ingolstadt railway line ( Paartalbahn ) and in the east and south by the city limits.

This value is well below the average for the city as a whole.

The age structure roughly corresponds to the values of Augsburg: with 3,839 citizens, the group of over 40 to under 65 year olds formed the largest age group on January 1, 2006, followed by over 20 to under 40 year olds with 2,484 people.

Development and infrastructure

The district of Hochzoll-Süd has predominantly residential developments in different densities. Public buildings, hypermarkets and shops, on the other hand, are more likely to be found in the northern part of Hochzoll. The centrally located Twelve Apostles Square is an exception. There are some shopping opportunities as well as a bank branch and a pizzeria in the vicinity of the church "To the Holy Twelve Apostles". The Twelve Apostles Hall, a sports hall of the DJK Augsburg-Hochzoll, is also located on the same square .

A popular destination is the Kuhsee lake on the western edge . In addition to the bathing area, there are also playgrounds, spacious lawns and barbecue areas. In the immediate vicinity of the lake, the youth house was built in 1989 . Furthermore, the primary school Hochzoll Süd as well as three day-care centers and a retirement home (Hermann-Sohne-Siedlung) are located in the city district .

With the Augsburg-Hochzoll train station , which is on the border with the neighboring district of Hochzoll-Nord , Hochzoll-Süd has good transport connections to Munich , south to Lake Ammersee and north to Ingolstadt and in the opposite direction to Ulm or Donauwörth (via Augsburg main station ). There are also bus routes 29 and 30 operated by Stadtwerke Augsburg , which serve as a feeder to tram routes 1 and 6 in Hochzoll-Nord. Bundesstraße 2 runs east of the Augsburg - Munich railway line .
