The Stadtjäger quarter is 73.8 hectares large district in the center of the Bavarian city of Augsburg , and had on 31 December 2015 a total population of 3,499 people. The district is part of the higher-level inner city planning area .
geography
The Stadtjägerviertel forms the northwestern end of Augsburg city center and borders the Oberhausen district there . In detail, the border runs along the railway tracks of the Ludwig-Süd-Nord-Bahn , along the eastern bank of the Wertach , Wertachstraße, Am Katzenstadl, An der Blauenkap, along Prinzregentenstraße and Frölichstraße.
Demographics
On December 31, 2015, the 5th district of Augsburg had 3,499 residents with main and secondary residence, of which 1,766 were female - this corresponds to a proportion of women of 50.5 percent. 646 or 18.5 percent of the residents of the Stadtjägerviertel had a foreign passport at the same time.
The district has a very young population compared to the inner city: the group of 20 to 40-year-olds was particularly well represented on December 31, 2015 with 1,488 people.
Attractions
- The Curt Frenzel Stadium is the home ground of the Augsburg Panthers ice hockey club . It was named after Curt Frenzel , who was best known as the editor of the Augsburger Allgemeine , but also as a promoter of ice hockey in Augsburg.
- The Wertachbrucker Tor forms the border between the Stadtjäger-, Georgs- and Kreuzviertel and was first built in 1370 as a customs gate and later integrated into the fortifications of the Fuggerstadt. Today it is primarily used by the carpenters' guild as a representative building and as an event location.
