August Cammann

Hermann Christian August Cammann (born August 5, 1814 in Hechthausen , † December 11, 1882 in Hanover ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born the son of a pastor , Cammann studied law in Bonn and Göttingen . During his studies he became a member of the Marcomannia Bonn fraternity in 1832 , which is why he was politically persecuted in Bonn. After completing his studies, he became a bailiff in Bederkesa , Dornum and Beverstedt . In 1848 he went as a laborer for the Ministry of Finance, where he 1854 Regierungsrat was. From 1856 to 1862 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Hanoverian Estates Assembly as a member of the second chamber for the cities of Clausthal and Zellerfeld . He was a member of the board of directors of the Hanover State Credit Authority and in 1857 became senior customs officer in the Hanover Higher Customs College, which from 1867 was called the Provincial Tax Directorate.

On November 9, 1849, in Lehe , he married Wilhelmine Charlotte Friederike Johanne Auguste (* Wittlage December 13, 1832; † Hanover November 12, 1901), daughter of Friedrich Ernst Ostermeyer and Wilhelmine (Emmy) Christine Amalie Müldner , a cousin of Karl Müldner of Mülnheim . The marriage produced at least two daughters:

  • Clara Wilhelmine Caroline (* Beverstedt January 9, 1851; † Hanover October 27, 1925), married Hanover April 20, 1875 Heinrich Hermann Karl Johannes Bock von Wülfingen .
  • Anna Johanna Justina (* Beverstedt August 18, 1852)
