August Janchen

August Jänchen (born October 19, 1892 in Frankfurt (Oder) , † August 6, 1983 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( LDP , FDP ).

August Jänchen attended elementary school and did an apprenticeship as a printer . In 1911 he made his military service . From 1912 he attended evening classes at the Friedrichs-Gymnasium Berlin . In the First World War he was a soldier and was wounded in 1917, after which he received training as a paymaster . Until 1920 Jänchen was the general manager . After evening courses at the Lessing University in Berlin , he became a civil servant at the Reichsbank , most recently as a councilor in the Reichsbank's audit office . In 1945 he was drafted into the " Volkssturm " and was then taken into prison by the Soviets .

After the Second World War , Janchen joined the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDP) in 1945 and worked for the German Central Administration for Transport in the Soviet Occupation Zone (SBZ). In 1946 he became district councilor for finances in the Reinickendorf district . In the Berlin election in 1950 , Janchen was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives, a few weeks later he was also elected to the district councilor for health care by the district council in the Wilmersdorf district. In 1954 he left office.
