Augustin Siméon Désiré Maillefer (born April 29, 1993 in Morges , Canton of Vaud ) is a Swiss rower .

Athletic career

The 1.94 m tall Augustin Maillefer won the 2010 junior world championships in the four-man title . At the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, Maillefer competed in one and finished ninth. In 2011 he reached sixth place in the one at the Junior World Championships. In 2012, he replaced the Swiss sculls his older brother Jeremy Maillefer . With the line-up of Florian Stofer , Nico Stahlberg , André Vonarburg and Augustin Maillefer, the Swiss crew took twelfth place at the 2012 Olympic Games .

In 2013, the Swiss double scull with David Aregger , Augustin Maillefer, Nico Stahlberg and Barnabé Delarze finished fifth at the European Championships in Seville. With Roman Röösli for Aregger, the crew won the title at the U23 World Championships. At the 2013 World Championships in the adult class, Aregger, Maillefer, Stahlberg and Delarze took sixth place. In 2014, the Swiss double scull with Damien Tollardo , Maillefer, Stahlberg and Delarze missed the A-final at the European Championships and finished eleventh. At the U23 World Championships, the Swiss double foursome won with Tollardo, Maillefer, Röösli and Delarze. At the World Championships in Amsterdam , the Swiss double scull achieved sixth place with Stahlberg, Aregger, Maillefer and Röösli. In 2015 Stahlberg, Maillefer, Delarze and Röösli took seventh place at the 2015 European Championships in Poznan. At the World Championships on the Lac d'Aiguebelette , the Swiss achieved fifth place and thus the direct Olympic qualification. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , Stahlberg, Maillefer, Röösli and Delarze took seventh place in the four-four as the winners of the B final.

At the 2018 World Championships in Plovdiv, Maillefer competed in a four without a helmsman . In the line-up of Paul Jacquot , Markus Kessler , Augustin Maillefer and Benjamin Hirsch , the four took eleventh place. In 2019 Markus Kessler, Joel Schürch , Paul Jacquot and Augustin Maillefer took eighth place at the European Championships in Lucerne . At the 2019 World Championships in Linz-Ottensheim, the Swiss also took eighth place.

Augustin Maillefer rows for Lausanne-Sports . He was Swiss champion in double sculls in 2013 and 2015 and in double sculls in 2012 and 2017.
