Augusto Bertazzoni

Augusto Cesare Bertazzoni (born January 10, 1876 in Polesine di Pegognaga , † August 30, 1972 in Potenza ) was an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Potenza and Marsico Nuovo .

Life

Augusto Bertazzoni received on 23 February 1899, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope Pius XI appointed him on June 30, 1930 Bishop of Potenza and Marsico Nuovo. The Bishop of Mantua , Agostino Domenico Menna , donated him episcopal ordination on August 15 of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Adria , Anselmo Rizzi , and the Archbishop of Perugia , Giovanni Battista Rosa .

Pope Pius XII awarded him the personal title of Archbishop on November 30, 1950 . He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father .

Pope Paul VI accepted his age-related resignation on November 30, 1966 and appointed him titular bishop of Temuniana .

In the process of beatification initiated for him, Pope Francis awarded him the heroic degree of virtue on October 2, 2019 .
