Augusto César de Lima Brito (born September 17, 1991 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian basketball player . His preferred position is that of the power forward .

career

Augusto Lima began his career in the youth of Fluminense Rio de Janeiro . From there he moved to Franca BC before he was signed by the Spanish club Unicaja Málaga in 2007, at the age of 16 . With the Andalusians , he played two seasons in the club's U-18 team and won the Spanish Junior Championship in both 2007/08 and 2008/09.

On October 14, 2009 he finally celebrated his debut in the ACB league against Bàsquet Manresa . When he first played, the then 18-year-old Brazilian was one of the pillars of his team with 11 points and 5 rebounds . On November 5, 2009 Augusto Lima played against Anadolu Efes SK for his first game in the ULEB Euroleague . Overall, Augusto Lima came in the 2009/10 season on 17 appearances in the professional squad of the Andalusians, but in parallel he also played for the branch team CB Axarquía . Also in the following season he came on both in the A-squad and for CB Axarquía to use before he moved to CB Granada on loan at the end of January 2011, where he played 14 games in the ACB league. From the 2011/12 season he finally went to the professional squad of Unicaja Málaga, but just like 2012/13 with his team did not get past ninth place in the championship. In the summer of 2013, Augusto Lima moved to league competitor CB Murcia and established himself there as a support for his team. He finished the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons with an average of 10.3 points and 7 rebounds per game. In the summer of 2015, the club announced the transfer of Augusto Lima to Real Madrid , but part of the deal included the Brazilian playing in the ranks of CB Murcia for the first half of the 2015/16 season. Augusto Lima finally moved to Real Madrid on January 25, 2016, where he signed a contract that ran until the summer of 2018.

National team

Augusto Lima played the South American Championship with the U-17 national team of Brazil in 2007 and finished fourth with his team. His first tournament in the ranks of the senior national team was the American Basketball Championship in 2011 , in which his selection only failed in the final with 75:80 to Argentina . In 2012 and 2014 he was part of the Brazilian squad for the South American Basketball Championship and finished fourth and third respectively. At the Pan American Games in Toronto in 2015 , Lima and his team won the gold medal with an 86:71 in the final against Canada . Lima brought it to 11 points and 7.4 rebounds per game over the course of the tournament.
