Aurélie Dupont

Aurélie Dupont [ 'ɔʀeli dy'pɔ̃ ] (born January 15, 1973 in Paris ) is a French ballet dancer . She is the Étoile of the Ballet of the Opéra National de Paris .

On May 18, 2015, she gave her farewell performance in Paris. Deviating from her original plans to make her "Maître de ballet" of the ballet of the Opéra National de Paris, she will join the company as "Directrice de." After Benjamin Millepied's resignation from August 2016 la danse "lead.

Life

Aurélie Dupont originally wanted to become a pianist because she liked piano music.

When she was seven, she moved with her parents and two sisters to the United States, Bethesda , Maryland , a good ten kilometers north of Washington, DC , where her father was a researcher.

Career

In 1983, at the age of ten, Aurélie Dupont entered the Paris Opera Ballet School, which runs for six years and in which 10 to 20% of the students are screened out in the exams that take place in May each year.

At the age of sixteen, in 1989, she became a member of the corps de ballet of the Paris Opera, in 1991 she was promoted to coryphée , a year later to sujet . In 1996 she became première danseuse .

In 1998, when Aurélie Dupont was twenty-five years old, she was appointed étoile following her appearance as Kitri in Rudolf Nureyev's Don Quixote .

Aurélie Dupont's repertoire includes 29 choreographies from different epochs, including several roles specially created for her.

On March 2, 2010, the one-hour documentary L'éspace d'un instant , which Cédric Klapisch had put together in the four years before, was broadcast on France 3 .

It contains excerpts from rehearsals in which Aurélie Dupont can be seen with the étoiles of the Opéra National de Paris Marie-Agnès Gillot, Manuel Legris and Mathias Heymann, as well as scenes when she was pregnant with her first son and had gained 20 kilograms . Five months after the birth of her son, she had "lost" the weight again and appeared in training with the Paris Opera ballet company.

After a break of more than a year, Aurélie Dupont appeared again.

Private life

From 2002 to 2006 Aurélie Dupont was in a relationship with the comedian Gad Elmaleh .

For several years she has been married to Jérémie Bélingard , who is étoile . The two have two sons, Jacques and Georges, who were born in May 2008 and January 2011, respectively.
