Aurélien Lugné-Poë

Aurélien Marie Lugné (born December 27, 1869 in Paris , † June 19, 1940 in Villeneuve-les-Avignon ), known by his stage name and pseudonym Lugné-Poe , was a French actor, director and set designer .

Lugné-Poe became known for his work at the Théâtre de l'Œuvre . Above all, Lugné-Poe introduced the French audience to the Scandinavian authors August Strindberg and Henrik Ibsen .
