Aurelio Pesoa Ribera

Aurelio Pesoa Ribera OFM (born October 10, 1962 in Concepción , Bolivia ) is a Bolivian clergyman and auxiliary bishop in La Paz .

Life

Aurelio Pesoa Ribera joined the Franciscan Order in 1983 , made temporal profession in 1984 and perpetual profession on February 22, 1988 . On April 16, 1989, he received the sacrament of ordination . In 1993 he obtained a degree in dogmatics from the Antonianum Pontifical University . From 1994 to 1999 he was a lecturer in ecclesiology and theological anthropology at the Universidad Católica Boliviana San Pablo .

After various tasks in training the next generation of the Order and at the ecclesiastical court of the Archdiocese of Santa Cruz de la Sierra , he was Provincial Minister since 2011 .

On March 25, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him titular bishop of Leges and auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of La Paz . The episcopal ordination donated him and the simultaneously appointed auxiliary bishop Jorge Ángel Saldía Pedraza OP the Archbishop of La Paz, Edmundo Luis Flavio Abastoflor Montero , on June 5th of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Sergio Alfredo Gualberti Calandrina , and the Vicar Apostolic of Ñuflo de Chávez , Antoni Bonifacy Reimann, OFM.

Since November 17, 2015 he has been General Secretary of the Bolivian Bishops' Conference .
