Aurora's geographic coordinates are 41 ° 19 ′  N , 81 ° 21 ′  W (41.319254, −81.355859). In the vicinity are Streetsboro to the south, Hudson to the southwest , the Twinsburg Township to the west, Reminderville and Solon to the northwest , the Bainbridge Township to the north, the Auburn Township to the northeast, the Mantua Township to the east and Shalersville Township to the southeast .

Freetime activities

As early as 1887, Giles Pond - now known as Geauga Lake - had amusement and other recreational facilities. The Big Dipper roller coaster operated here for 82 years.

The historically second park in the SeaWorld chain was established in 1970 on the northern edge of the city. It was bought by Six Flags in 2001, along with adjacent Geauga Lake , and became the property of Cedar Fair in 2004 , closing most of the former marine mammal park. Cedar Fair operates the facility as a water park.
