Aurore Jéan (born June 25, 1985 in Besançon ; born Aurore Cuinet ) is a French cross-country skier .

Career

From 2004 to 2009 Jéan mainly took part in the Alpine Cup, which she finished in fourth place in the 2007/2008 season. At the U23 World Championship in 2008 in Italian Mals, she won silver over 10 km classic. She made her first World Cup race in December 2006 in La Clusaz . In the 15 km mass start race she reached 56th place. She took her first World Cup point in January 2008 with 30th place in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec , she finished 12th in the team sprint and 25th place in the sprint. In the 2009/10 season she was able to occupy a top ten position for the first time in the individual sprint with 8th place. Her best placings at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver were 14th place in the 30 km mass start and sixth place with the relay. She finished the 2010/11 Tour de Ski in 23rd place. Her best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo were 31st place in the sprint and 13th place in the relay. The Tour de Ski 2011/12 she finished in 31st place. At the French cross-country skiing championship in 2012 in Bessans , she won gold in the sprint and two silver medals over 10 km freestyle and 10 km skiathlon. Her best World Cup season so far was the 2012/13 season, which she finished in 16th place in the overall standings and ninth place in the sprint standings. In the season she was able to take her first podium finish in the World Cup with second place in the sprint competition in Sochi . The 2012/13 Tour de Ski finished in 20th place. Her best result at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme was 13th place in the skiathlon and sixth place in the relay. At the Tour de Ski 2013/14 she reached 15th place. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, she was sixth in the 30 km mass start race and fourth in the relay. At the French cross-country skiing championship in Prémanon in 2014 , she won bronze in the sprint.

At the beginning of the 2014/15 season, Jéan finished the Nordic Opening in 27th place. In February 2015, she finished eighth in the relay at the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun . In the 2016/17 season she came third at the Transjurassienne and second at the Marathon de Bessans . Her best results at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang were 22nd place over 10 km freestyle and eighth place together with Coraline Thomas Hugue in the team sprint.
