Otto Magnus Julius von Trotta called Treyden (born February 28, 1794 in Königsberg , † October 11, 1858 in Insterburg ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

He was the son of Otto Friedrich Heinrich von Trotta (* June 24, 1754; † March 10, 1830 in Königsberg), from the Trotta family called Treyden , and his second wife Charlotte Elisabeth Florentine Luise, née Gösch (* December 31, 1772 in Königsberg; † October 13, 1837 ibid). His father was a Prussian lieutenant colonel a. D. , most recently commander of the “von Ploetz” infantry regiment and knight of the order Pour le Mérite ; his mother the daughter of the mint director Gösch.

Military career

In mid-February 1812 Trotta was employed in the cuirassier regiment No. 3 of the Prussian Army , where he was appointed portepee ensign in November 1812 and promoted to second lieutenant on February 17, 1813 . As such, he took part in the battles at Großgörschen and Bautzen during the Wars of Liberation against Napoleon . Trotta was wounded in the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig . After his recovery he fought at Montmirail , for which Trotta received the Iron Cross II. Class, and took part in the battles of Laon and Paris .

After the peace treaty Trotta became Prime Lieutenant in mid-May 1819 and rose to Rittmeister and squadron chief in February 1833 . On March 9, 1848, as a major , he was commissioned to represent the leadership of the 1st Dragoon Regiment, and on May 7, 1848, he was finally appointed regimental commander. In this position, he was promoted to followed on 19 November 1849 Lieutenant Colonel and on April 19, 1851 to Colonel .

Trotta was retired on August 8, 1854 as a major general with a pension .

He married on May 6, 1820 in Kalgen Valeska Alexandrine von Below (born September 29, 1802 in Kalgen, † October 16, 1854 in Insterburg). The marriage had three children:
