B 31a with AS Freiburg-Mitte in the background |
The Freiburg-Mitte junction (abbreviation: AS Freiburg-Mitte ) is a junction in Baden-Württemberg near Freiburg. This is where the federal highway 5 ( Hattenbacher Dreieck - Frankfurt am Main - Basel ) ( Europastraße 35 ) and the federal highway 31a ( Umkirch - Freiburg - Buchenbach ) cross. It has the shape of a clover leaf and bears the number 62 on the A5.
The long-term plan is to upgrade the B 31a to the A 860 and to rename the junction to the Freiburg motorway junction.
geography
The junction is located around 5 km northwest of Freiburg , around 15 km east of Breisach and around 30 km east of Colmar .
State of development
Both the A 5 and the B 31a can be driven on four lanes in each direction of travel in the area of the junction. All transitions are single-lane.
It is laid out in the shape of a clover leaf.
