The Aven is a coastal river in France that runs in the Finistère department in the Brittany region . It rises just northeast of Coray , generally drains in a southerly direction and flows into the Atlantic Ocean after 39 kilometers at Port Manec'h , in the municipality of Névez . Below Pont-Aven it is subject to the tides ; it has an estuary about five kilometers long . Immediately at its mouth, it meets the mouth of the Bélon River .
