Axel Kuhn (historian)

Axel Kuhn (* 1943 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German historian and writer . He lives with his wife in Warmbronn , a district of Leonberg .

Axel Kuhn grew up in Bremen . He studied history and German in Münster , Hamburg and Kiel . He then moved to the University of Stuttgart , where he obtained his doctorate between 1968 and 2008, completed his habilitation and then taught as a professor of modern history. He was involved as a local politician in Leonberg and was a long time member of the community and local council for the Green Alternative Citizens' List (GABL).

In his scientific publications he mainly deals with the German democratic traditions since the end of the 18th century. In 1993 he received the Schubart Literature Prize from the city of Aalen for his report Enthusiasm for the Revolution at the Hohen Carlsschule . He also writes detective novels .
