Julian Amado Azaad (born December 26, 1990 in Cerrito ) is an Argentine beach volleyball player .

Career

Azaad played his first FIVB World Tour tournament with Martín Conde at the Brasília Open in 2012 . From 2013 he competed with Ian Mehamed and regularly achieved results among the top five in the continental tournament series. At the Grand Slams in Corrientes and Gstaad , Azaad / Mehamed took 17th and 25th place. At the Anapa Open they came in ninth in the top ten for the first time. They then retired early on at the Grand Slams in Berlin and Moscow . In 2014 they won a tournament in Chile in the continental series .

Then Azaad formed a new duo with Pablo Bianchi . After finishing ninth at the Puerto Vallarta Open, Azaad / Bianchi came 17th at the Anapa Open. Then they played five Grand Slams, but did not get beyond the back places. Only at the end of the year at the Paraná Open did they make it back into the top ten. In 2015 Azaad played in the continental series with Santiago Aulisi , where he achieved two fifths and one second place after a tournament victory in Venezuela . With Bianchi, the results on the 2015 World Tour at the Grand Slam in Moscow and the majors in Poreč and Stavanger stayed in double digits. At the World Cup in the Netherlands, Azaad / Bianchi were eliminated as the bottom group after the preliminary round. After a 33rd place at Gstaad Major, Azaad came 17th at the Open tournaments in Rio de Janeiro and Puerto Vallarta with Aulisi. At the beginning of 2016, Azaad / Bianchi won the tournament in Coquimbo in the CSV series and came second in Ancón . On the World Tour they played the Open tournaments in Maceió and Vitória as well as the Grand Slam in Rio de Janeiro with double-digit results. They achieved their best result in the FIVB series in 2016 with 17th place in Fortaleza .

In 2017 Azaad formed a new duo with Nicolás Capogrosso . In the South American series, Capogrosso / Azaad achieved a tournament victory in Lima and further top five results. On the World Tour 2017 they did not get more than double-digit results at the three-star tournaments in Moscow and The Hague and the five-star tournaments in Poreč and Gstaad. They qualified for the 2017 World Cup in Vienna via the CSV preliminary decision .
