history

The ship was built in 2000 by the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire as the sixth ship of the eight “R” class for the shipping company Renaissance Cruises and was named R Six . The ship was sold to the Cruiseinvest company in early 2001 . Because insolvency introduced Renaissance Cruises end of September 2001 the operation and the R Six was until mid-2003 launched . She was then chartered to the shipping company Pullmantur Cruises and used by them for cruises under the marketing name Blue Star (but not yet officially renamed).
