Azienda del Consorzio Trasporti Veneziano (ACTV, in German company of the Venetian Transport Consortium ) is a municipal transport company that has been operating in the municipality of Venice since October 1st, 1978 . He operates bus routes, tram routes and water bus routes .

Bus routes

The bus routes connect Venice from Piazzale Roma with Mestre , Padua and Adria, among others . Bus routes are also operated on the Lido.

There are two tram lines implemented in the Translohr system , referred to as T1 and T2. The first section opened in 2010. The T1 runs from Piazzale Roma in Venice via Mestre to Monte Celo ( Favaro Veneto ). The second line runs from Mestre to Salamonio ( Marghera ).

Vaporetto

The waterbus lines include 20 lines that operate during the day and three night lines that operate on the waterways in Venice . One ferry line, number 17, is a car ferry that runs from Tronchetto via the Lido to Punta Sabbioni . The other lines are pure passenger ferries. They are mainly served by the larger vaporetti or the smaller motoscafi, but larger ferries are also used, for example on line 17.

Acqua alta

At Acqua alta (winter flood), the water bus routes are partially or completely shut down. The first lines to cease traffic are the links between Tre Archi and Guglie, with traffic ending at Tre Archi and Ferrovia, and the line between Tronchetto and Piazzale Roma, where traffic ends.

During the floods in 2019, around 20 stops and many boats were damaged. At the stops, access bridges and pontoon fortifications, among other things, were demolished, and the repair of this damage dragged on until April 2020. Line 1 runs along the Grand Canal from Piazzale Roma via Venezia Santa Lucia train station (Ferrovia stop ) past the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square to Lido de Venezia. Vaporetti operate on it.

Line 3 runs from Piazzale Roma via Venezia Santa Lucia train station (Ferrovia stop ) , Fondamente Nove station and the cemetery island of San Michele to Murano . Motoscafi run on it.

Lines 4.1 and 4.2

The lines 4.1 and 4.2 circumnavigate as ring lines districts Dorsoduro , Santa Croce, S.Polo, S. Marco, Castello, Cannaregio and Murano. Line 4.1 runs counterclockwise, line 4.2 clockwise. The lines start and end at the Fondamente Nove station. Motoscafi run on them.

Lines 5.1 and 5.2

Similar to lines 4.1 and 4.2, lines 5.1 and 5.2 go around the districts of Dorsoduro, Santa Croce, S.Polo, S.Marco, Castello, Cannaregio, but do not go to Murano, but on to the Lido. Line 5.1 runs counterclockwise, line 5.2 clockwise. The lines start and end at the Lido. Motoscafi run on them.

Line 6

Line 11 runs from the Lido via Pellestrina to Chioggia . It is not continuous, but a mixture of bus and boat lines. Buses are used on the islands of Lido and Pellestrina, but ferries between Pellestrina and Chioggia, so you have to change trains once.
