The Büchlberg ( 651 m above sea level ) is a densely wooded basalt cone north of Mitterteich in the Upper Palatinate district of Tirschenreuth in the Reichsforst , Fichtelgebirge .
geography
Together with the nearby basalt cones Steinbühl (575 m) and Streuleite (582 m), the Büchlberg is separated from Pechbrunn and Steinwald to the west and south by the A 93 motorway and the Weiden – Oberkotzau railway line . The village of Großbüchlberg is located directly on the eastern slope , south of it, near Mitterteich and the Steinbühl, the village of Kleinbüchlberg .
geology
A large basalt eruption area lies between Marktredwitz , Mitterteich, Konnersreuth and Seußen . It is the westernmost branch of the North Bohemian basalt volcanism. In the Miocene , liquid basalt mass came up through the granite .
tourism
The secondary peak , known locally as the “Freizeithugl” (leisure hill, 632 m) , has a ski lift and a summer toboggan run .
