BB-MV-LokalTV (formerly BB-MV Lokal-TV , BB-Lokal-TV, and Brandenburg Lokal -TV ) is a common satellite channel for local TV stations from Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is a (joint) project of the Medienanstalt Berlin-Brandenburg . SES Astra takes over the technical handling .

history

The channel started on September 13, 2013 and was originally limited to three years. It was broadcast daily between 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. in 30-minute windows. With the participation of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania media authority , seven channels from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania were previously available on this joint platform, as well as two channels from Berlin . With the withdrawal of the Berlin and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania channels in September 2018, the name of the station was changed. In mid-November 2018, the station switched to the Astra transponder 23, combined with an extension of the broadcast time to 24 hours. Since January 1, 2019, the local stations from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are officially on board again.

Before satellite broadcasting went into operation, reception of the stations involved was essentially only possible via cable . There were similar projects to increase reach B. for Bavaria with ONTV (2002–2012) and LokalSAT (2004–2012).
