BNG Nieuwe Literatuurprijs
The BNG Nieuwe Literatuurprijs (German: BNG New Literature Prize ) is a Dutch literature prize that has been awarded annually to Dutch-speaking authors since 2005.
The prerequisite for participation is that the writers must be forty years old or younger, have already published at least two prose works under their own name, but have not yet achieved a breakthrough. Beyond that, you must not have won a major literary prize.
The prize is sponsored by the Foundation Culture Fund of the Bank of the Dutch Communities (= BNG) (Dutch: Stichting BNG Cultuurfonds) . It consists of 15,000 euros in prize money and a sculpture . The winners are announced annually in January and the award is presented in February in the Amstelkerk in Amsterdam .
In the first year the award was called Dif / BNG Aanmoedigingsprijs (= Dif / BNG-Förderpreis) and was launched by the bookazine Dif and the literature agency Sebes & Van Gelderen . The award got its current name from the second year.
