Bad, Bad Things (Original title: Mon idole ) is a French comedy film directed by Guillaume Canet from 2002.

action

The young Bastien works as an assistant for the rich and famous television producer Jean-Louis Broustal. When he saw potential in Bastien, he invited him to spend a weekend with him and his wife Clara on his country estate. Bastien accepts the offer because he wants to show his role model his skills. Soon he becomes a puppet of Broustal, whom he always has to be of service. These services can be jogging with the boss or sex with his wife.

At the beginning Bastien takes note of the new situation with amusement, but it turns into a grueling game when Bastien has to remove a corpse. He decides to step down from the service of his boss. However, he does not succeed because he notices it.

Bad, Bad Things was the first full-length feature film by director Guillaume Canet. The beginning and the end of the film were made as an animated film .

The film premiered on December 17, 2002 in France. In Germany it was released directly on DVD on January 14, 2005.

Awards

At the 2003 César Awards , François Berléand was nominated for the best leading actor and the film was nominated for the French film award as best first work . The film also received a nomination for the European Film Award in the Best Newcomer Film category . François Berléand was ultimately awarded the Étoile d'Or for Best Actor.
