Badminton World Championship 1978
The 1978 World Badminton Championship was held from November 4th to 7th, 1978 in Bangkok , Thailand . It was the first world championship of the smaller badminton world federation WBF , which, however, with China one of the most important countries of badminton belonged. The more traditional world association IBF had already organized its first title fights in 1977. For the second IBF World Cup in 1980, the WBF merged with the IBF under their umbrella, not without the WBF having its second title fights in 1979 .
