Badminton World Championship 1979
The 1979 Badminton World Championship took place from June 10 to 21, 1979 in Hangzhou , People's Republic of China . It was the second world championship of the smaller badminton world federation WBF , which, however, with China one of the most important countries of badminton belonged. The more traditional world association IBF had already organized its first title fights in 1977. For the second IBF World Cup in 1980, the WBF merged with the IBF under their umbrella.
