Bahnbrücken is a district of Kraichtal in the district of Karlsruhe in north-western Baden-Württemberg . Bahnbrücken lies in the hilly landscape of the Kraichgau . The municipal area is 357 ha.

history

Mentioned for the first time as Banbrugken in 1219 (other spellings: 1301 Banbruggen, 1635 Beinbrück), the place initially belonged to the Counts of Eberstein (see Gochsheim) and from 1278 came to the Cistercian monastery of Herrenalb . With this, the place came under Württemberg rule from 1338 and belonged to the care of Derdingen (see Amthof Oberderdingen ). In 1806 it was assigned to the Grand Duchy of Baden by means of an exchange and epuration agreement . From 1807 to 1813 the place belonged to the Oberamt Gochsheim , then to the District Office Bretten and from 1936 to the District Office Bruchsal .

On September 1, 1971, railway bridges merged with the cities of Gochsheim and Unteröwisheim as well as the municipalities of Landshausen, Menzingen, Münzesheim, Neuenbürg, Oberacker and Oberöwisheim to form the new city of Kraichtal and with this came to today's district of Karlsruhe during the 1973 district reform .

In 2010 Bahnbrücken had 676 inhabitants.
