history

First mentioned in 864/876 as Huserard marca , Landshausen was the extension of Menzingen . Around 1100 the name Nanthesshusen appears . The monasteries Lorsch , Hirsau and Odenheim had properties on site. The lordship lay with the lords of Mentzingen , who pledged the place to the Odenheim monastery in 1426 and 1427, whereby it came under episcopal Speyer sovereignty and remained Catholic at the time of the Reformation. In 1803 Landshausen came to Baden and was initially assigned to the Office of Odenheim . In 1807 the place came to the Oberamt Gochsheim and 1813 to the District Office Eppingen . When it was dissolved in 1924, the place became part of the Bruchsal District Office and finally in 1938 the Sinsheim District Office . In 1939 there were 699 inhabitants, at the end of 1945 there were 704.

On September 1, 1971, Landshausen united with the cities of Gochsheim and Unteröwisheim as well as with the communities of Bahnbrücken, Menzingen, Münzesheim, Neuenbürg, Oberacker and Oberöwisheim to form the new city of Kraichtal. As a result of the merger, the place also changed its district affiliation and initially belonged - like all other districts of Kraichtal - to the district of Bruchsal, to which the place had already belonged from 1924 to 1938.

In 2005 Landshausen had 1050 inhabitants.
