The Diemen Zuid station is a through station of the Dutch railway company NS in the south of the Dutch town of Diemen . It is the larger of the two stations in Diemen.

history

The metro station of the same name, located next to the Diemen Zuid train station, was opened in 1977 with the opening of the first Amsterdam metro lines . At that time there was only wasteland around the station . Little by little, a large residential and commercial area is developing. The Diemen Zuid railway station was only opened in 1993, which had to do with the extension of the railway line from Leiden to Weesp , which was then extended from Duivendrecht to Weesp . The railway line was built in an elevated position right next to the metro station.
