The Friedensdorf (Lahn) station is a through station on the Upper Lahn Valley Railway in Central Hesse , in the Friedensdorf district of the Dautphetal community . The train station is the community's central local transport hub and is listed as a whole - in addition to the reception building with attached half-timbered goods shed, another goods shed on the other side of the tracks and the form signals that are still in sight - are under monument protection . It also serves as a crossing station.
history
The station was planned by the Bergisch-Märkische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft as part of the Kreuztal – Cölbe line at route kilometers 68.6 and built in 1883 after it was taken over by the Prussian State Railways . The station was opened together with the entire section from Cölbe to Laasphe on March 19 (freight traffic) and April 2, 1883 (passenger traffic). Initially, a simple wooden shed stood on the site of today's station building. The reception building was only built in 1908 on the basis of a type design by the government master builder Alois Holtmeyer .
In the summer of 2011, the Obere Lahntalbahn between Buchenau and Biedenkopf was closed for six weeks. During this time, tracks, points and signals were renewed in the Friedensdorf train station. In addition, the outer platform , which was only renovated in 2004, and the intermediate platform were replaced by a barrier-free central platform equipped with tactile guide strips for the blind .

In future, train operations for the Obere Lahntalbahn and the Burgwaldbahn will be controlled via the newly built electronic interlocking in Friedensdorf. The necessary systems for this were built in 2010 and 2011.
Reception building
The station building is based on a type design by Alois Holtmeyer . The two-story stucco building is located on the village side eave ever- south route and has a basalt base and a covered with slate pitched roof . On the street side at the southwest corner of the reception building there is a dwarf house , on both sides - each in the middle - a small bat dormer . The gable with a hip hip is also slated . To the south-east there is a single-storey extension with a slated hipped roof belonging to the reception building. There is a small open waiting hall on the track side.
environment
The railway line touches the north-eastern edge of the town in an arc from the east and runs to the north-west in the direction of Biedenkopf . The station is on the side of the village, level with the route on the connecting road towards Wilhelmshütte .

The station is located in the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) area and is the transfer point between the Oberen Lahntalbahn ( RB 94 ) and the regional bus route 481 (Marburg-Bad Laasphe), the local bus routes MR-52 and MR-57 and the AST lines MR-52 and MR-55.
The house platform was on track 2 until summer 2011 and was used regularly for trains in the direction of Marburg. The intermediate platform was between tracks 2 and 3 and was used for trains in the direction of Bad Laasphe / Erndtebrück. In the course of the complete renovation of the station in 2011, the intermediate platform of track 3 was replaced by a new central platform, which now serves both tracks. For this purpose, the track spacing was increased and the old side platform removed. In addition, track 2 has been renamed to track 1 and track 3 to track 2.

Accessibility
Access to the station area was made barrier-free when the station was renovated in 2004 . For this purpose, the no longer used track 1 was completely removed and adjusted to the level of the new paved house platform on track 2. Tactile guidance systems were also installed on track 2.
Access to track 3 was at ground level and crossing track 2. The unpaved gravel platform on track 3 had a platform height of well under 55 cm. To make matters worse, the trains of the 628 series stopping in Friedensdorf were not barrier-free, so that people with walking disabilities ( wheelchair or bicycle riders, parents with prams, etc.) could not get on or off at the station or could only get on or off with difficulty without assistance.
The central platform, newly built in 2011, is barrier-free and 55 cm high. It can be reached via a ramp equipped with a guide for the blind. However, track 1 must be crossed as there is no overpass or underpass.
