Railway stations in Hessen |
The Glauberg train station is a train station in the Glauberg district of the community of Glauburg in the Wetterau . In 2001 the breakpoint was renamed Glauburg-Glauberg .
history
The station was built on the Heldenbergen-Windecken-Stockheim section of the Niddertal Railway, which was opened in 1905, by the Royal Prussian State Railway .
The station building, a type building from 1905, was built in the Upper Hessian tradition with renaissance forms. The building has a T-shaped floor plan and a stepped gable in the street and a half-timbered gable in the facade.
In 1967 the freight traffic at the station was stopped and the loading platform dismantled. In 1975, passenger traffic was reduced to working days and operations on Saturday afternoons as well as on Sundays and public holidays were discontinued. A ticket machine and a half-barrier were put into operation at the station in 1990.
In 1992 ownership of the station building passed to the community of Glauburg. In 1993 new platforms and a park-and-ride car park were completed.
After the neglected reception building was privatized in 2004, the station building, which was restored between 2006 and 2007, is used as a country inn on the Vulkanradweg . In 2008 it was awarded the Monument Protection Prize for its renovation work.
traffic
All regional trains on the Glauburg-Stockheim-Nidderau-Bad Vilbel (-Frankfurt Hbf) route stop every hour at Glauburg-Glauberg station . During rush hour this is extended to every half hour, with every second train starting or ending in Bad Vilbel.
