The Hanover-Anderten-Misburg train station in Hanover is a Category  5 stop on the Hanover S-Bahn . It is located on the Hanover – Braunschweig railway line on the border between the Anderten and Misburg-Süd districts . The former station building is a listed building . The restaurant at the Alter Bahnhof Anderten is equipped with numerous railway equipment.

history

After the Hanover – Braunschweig railway line was opened north of the village of Anderten in 1843, the line gradually became overloaded in the course of advancing industrialization due to the growing freight traffic. A new route was therefore laid around 600 meters south for passenger traffic at the beginning of the 20th century, which , coming from Lehrte , rejoined the old route at the Tiergarten . In 1906 the new line was opened to traffic. The station building was completed in 1910. The previous route became part of the new freight bypass in sections . Until 2003 it still had a connection to the old route to the main station at Hermann-Löns-Park . When the station building was no longer needed for rail traffic, it was sold in 1983.

Reception building

The reception building is a plastered building with differentiated structures made of bricks and sandstone bodies over a rectangular floor plan . The building is divided into three sections: a one-half-storey middle wing with the entrance and the former hall and then the two two-storey side wings, in which the waiting rooms and service rooms were on the ground floor, and apartments on the upper floor.

The building is adorned with curved gables on the risalits , dwarf houses and bay windows . The train station “is an important example of public representative building for a suburb like Anderten, as it shows the importance” that was attached to it on this busy route.

S-Bahn station

S-Bahn station

In 2000, on the occasion of the introduction of the Hanover S-Bahn, the line between Hanover and Lehrte was expanded by up to two tracks. At the H-Anderten-Misburg station, the two tracks for the S-Bahn run north of the old tracks. They have a central platform and can be reached barrier-free by means of an elevator. The previous platform at the old station building is no longer in use, the former platform for the trains traveling towards the main station was demolished. The station is served by the hourly S-Bahn lines S3 and S7. There is a 30-minute cycle between Hanover main station and Lehrte due to the overlapping of cycles .
