The Heemstede-Aerdenhout Station is a train station in the Dutch city Heemstede and lies on the railway line Amsterdam-Rotterdam . The station is located between the Leiden Centraal and Haarlem stations . Heemstede-Aerdenhout is an intercity train station. The station is mainly used by commuters.

history

The station was opened as a stop in 1872 , but closed again after eight years. The station was reopened on October 1, 1891 under the name Zandvoortsche Laan and was closed again in 1903. When it reopened in 1928, it was finally given the name Heemstede-Aerdenhout . In 1958 the bus stop was replaced by today's Viadukt station.

sprinter ( Den Haag Centraal  -) Leiden Centraal  - Heemstede-Aerdenhout  - Haarlem every half hour (runs after 8 p.m. and does not run between Den Haag Centraal and Leiden Centraal on weekends)

As soon as the HSL-Zuid is fully operational, half of all intercity trains between Amsterdam and Rotterdam will run via Haarlem and thus via Heemstede-Aerdenhout. Since 2012 these trains have also stopped in Heemstede-Aerdenhout.
