Schaerbeek / Schaarbeek is the first station after Brussels on the Brussels – Antwerp railway line .
history
The first station building in Schaerbeek / Schaarbeek dates from 1864 and was little more than a wooden hut. The older part of the red and white brick building, a smaller building on the left wing, dates from 1887 and was designed by the architect Franz Seulen. It was expanded in 1913 in the Flemish Neo-Renaissance style. The entire building has been a listed building since 1994. Since September 2015, the station building has been part of the Belgian railway museum Train World . Further exhibition halls are directly connected.

The station has 13 platforms (platforms 3 to 15). Until 2000 there was a car loading station to France and Italy, which was then relocated to Denderleeuw . The station is on the routes from Brussels to Liège , Leuven , Antwerp , Mouscron and Halle . Trains run to Leuven, Antwerp (Anvers), Mouscron and Braine-le-Comte . The forecourt is the bus stop for lines 58, 59 and 69 of the Brussels transport company . The 92 tram also runs here.
