The Scheibenberg train station is the name of the former train station and now the stopping point between Annaberg-Buchholz and Schwarzenberg / Erzgeb. lying small town Scheibenberg in the Saxon Erzgebirgskreis . The former Scheibenberg train station is just outside in the north of Scheibenberg. The station, located on a plateau, is the highest station on the Annaberg-Buchholz-Schwarzenberg railway line. In the direction of Schwarzenberg , the valley of the Große Mittweida is reached via the Markersbach Viaduct .
history
Scheibenberg station was opened on December 1, 1889 as a stop together with the Buchholz – Schwarzenberg (Erzgeb) line. With the opening of the Zwönitz – Scheibenberg railway line , the station became a railway junction on May 1, 1900. Since May 1, 1905, Scheibenberg was run as a train station.
The station originally had three platforms, six tracks and a 180 m long loading line. In addition to the station building, the high-rise buildings included a goods shed, farm buildings, a residential building, a weighbridge and a loading ramp.
After the Second World War , the Zwönitz - Elterlein section was closed on August 20, 1947 and the route was dismantled at short notice as a reparation payment for the Soviet Union . The remaining Elterlein – Scheibenberg section initially experienced lively rush hour traffic in the direction of Schwarzenberg due to the uranium mining of the Wismut . With the cessation of passenger traffic on November 21, 1965 and freight traffic on September 24, 1966, the time as a separation station ended for the Scheibenberg station . After the closure, the short stretch was used to park damaged cars until 1968 and then dismantled.
On the Annaberg-Buchholz-Schwarzenberg railway line, freight and passenger traffic fell dramatically after German reunification . As a result, freight traffic on the railway line was stopped at the turn of the year 1994/95. The last scheduled train crossed the Scheibenberg station, which has been a stop since 1994, on September 27, 1997. The Annaberg-Buchholz-Schwarzenberg line was taken over by the DB's own Erzgebirgsbahn on January 1, 2002 . Since 2009, the route has been used on individual weekends in the summer half-year as an Ore Mountains observation train for tourist excursions. The responsible railway company is the Verein Sächsischer Eisenbahnfreunde eV While only the track remains of the tracks, the buildings of the former train station on the area have been preserved to this day. A commercial area of the city of Scheibenberg was built nearby.
Radio controlled Ks signals have been tested in the area of the stop since 2019 .
In May 2020, Deutsche Bahn announced the construction of a test signal box. In particular, the interoperability of the technical interfaces between different manufacturers of digital interlockings should be tested.
