The Chynorany – Trenčín railway is a branch line in Slovakia . It begins in the Neutratal near Chynorany , passes the small town of Bánovce nad Bebravou and behind a pass between the Strážovské vrchy and Inowetz it reaches the terminus Trenčín in the Waagtal .

history

The first plans to build a railway from Komárno to Trenčín were made in 1865, and then in the 1870s. However, none of these plans were implemented.

A local railway company was only founded in January 1900. The route was originally supposed to start in Žabokreky nad Nitrou , but the beginning had to be moved to Chynorany because of the resistance of the local large estate owner. The route was opened to traffic on August 18, 1901.

Passenger traffic was stopped on February 2, 2003, but was reactivated on June 15, 2003.

Current condition: 4 pairs of passenger trains run on this route. In the direction of Trencin-Chynorany, one train runs daily from Trencianska Tepla to Topol'cany and another train only on working days from Trencin to Topol'cany. There are also 2 daily trains Trencin-Chynorany, the last of the 4 trains already leaves at 15:38. In the direction of Chynorany Trencin there are 2 daily connections between the two places, starting at 05:10 and at 07:10. In the afternoon on working days a train from Topol'cany, which ends in Trencin, and the last train at 5:10 p.m. is a train Chynorany-Horne Srnie. Modernized railcars with contemporary interiors are used. The announcements of the next train stations are made via the on-board computer and are easy to understand. The information is valid until the annual timetable change on December 10, 2016.
