Ruskovce (Hungarian Bánruszkóc ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 521 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Bánovce nad Bebravou of, part kraj Trenčiansky heard.
geography
The municipality is located in the northwestern part of the Nitrianska pahorkatina hills within the Slovak Danube lowlands , on a broad ridge at the confluence of the Hradniansky potok and Svinica . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 227 m nm and is seven and a half kilometers from Bánovce nad Bebravou .
Neighboring municipalities are Dežerice in the north, Bánovce nad Bebravou in the east and southeast, Veľké Držkovce in the south and Malá Hradná in the west.
history
Ruskovce was first mentioned as Rwzk in 1329 and was owned by the Pagan , Stolocky , Henc and Sirmiensis families . Not far from the village are the ruins of a medieval castle from the 13th century. In 1598 there were 11 houses in the village, in 1784 the village had 18 houses, 34 families and 163 inhabitants. In 1828 there were 11 houses and 72 residents who were employed as farmers.
Until 1918 the place in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Ruskovce had 510 inhabitants, including 493 Slovaks and two Czechs . 15 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
438 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 22 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, three residents to the Seventh-day Adventists, two residents to the Greek Catholic Church and one resident to the Evangelical Methodist Church. 24 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 20 residents was not determined.
