Slatina nad Bebravou (until 1927 Slovak "Slatina" - until the 19th century "Veľká Slatina", Hungarian Felsőszalatna - until 1907 Nagyszlatina ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 441 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Bánovce nad Bebravou , part of the Trenčiansky kraj .
geography
The village is located on the edge of the Strážovské vrchy Mountains at the confluence of the Bebrava and Trebichavský potok . The center of the village is at an altitude of 275 m nm and is 18 kilometers from Bánovce nad Bebravou .
Neighboring municipalities are Slatinka nad Bebravou in the north, Šípkov in the northeast, Trebichava in the southeast, Timoradza in the south, Krásna Ves in the west and again Slatinka nad Bebravou in the northwest.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1332 as Salatna and at that time belonged to the estate of the Uhrovec Castle . In 1598 there was a mill and 45 houses in the village, in 1828 there were 49 houses and 580 inhabitants who were employed as fishermen and farmers.
Until 1918 the place in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Slatina nad Bebravou had 459 inhabitants, of which 448 were Slovaks and one Czech . 10 residents gave no information on ethnicity .
280 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, 128 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, seven residents to the Apostolic Church and one resident to the Mormons. 29 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 14 residents was not determined.
