Krásna Ves (until 1927 Slovak and "Krásnejsa"; Hungarian Bánkaraszna - until 1907 Kraszna ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 507 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Bánovce nad Bebravou of, part kraj Trenčiansky heard .
geography
The community is located in the northernmost foothills of the Nitrianska pahorkatina (German Neutra hill country ) below the Strážovské vrchy mountains , on the upper reaches of the Bebrava . The center of the village is at an altitude of 260 m nm and is 15 kilometers from Bánovce nad Bebravou .
Neighboring communities are Omšenie in the east, Slatinka nad Bebravou in the east, Timoradza in the south and Bobot in the west.
history
In the area of today's municipality there was a settlement in the Copper Age, a cave settlement with fluted ceramics, urn field from the Young Bronze Age, burial mounds and cremation graves as well as a settlement of the Lusatian culture .
The present place was first mentioned in writing in 1208 as Baznan , in connection with a legal dispute between the bishop of Neutra and a nobleman named Benedict . In 1295 the village belonged to the Uhrovec estate . In 1598 there was a mill and 38 houses in the village, in 1784 the village had 57 houses and 522 inhabitants who were employed as farmers.
Until 1918 the place in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. The residents took part in the Slovak National Uprising .
population
According to the 2011 census, Krásna Ves had 517 inhabitants, including 501 Slovaks , four Czechs and one Magyar . Two residents indicated a different ethnic group and nine residents gave no information about the ethnic group .
324 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 115 residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident each to the Baptists, Jehovah's Witnesses and the Orthodox Church. 47 inhabitants were without religious affiliation and the denomination was not determined for 28 residents.
