Uhrovské Podhradie (Hungarian Zayváralja - 1892-1907 Zaypodhragy , older only Podhrágy ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 35 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Bánovce nad Bebravou of, part kraj Trenčiansky heard.
geography
The village is located in the southern part of the Strážovské vrchy Mountains by the Podhradský creek . The center of the village is at an altitude of 340 m nm and is 13 kilometers from Bánovce nad Bebravou .
Neighboring communities are Žitná-Radiša in the west and north, Omastiná in the northeast, Nitrianske Rudno , Diviaky nad Nitricou and Diviacka Nová Ves in the east, Nitrianske Sučany in the southeast and Uhrovec in the south.
history
The history of the place is closely linked to that of Uhrovec Castle . The castle was mentioned in writing as early as 1295, but the place below the castle was only mentioned as Podhradye in 1481 . In 1598 there was a judge and four houses in the village. In 1720 the village had nine taxpayers and 87 residents who were employed as farmers and forest workers.
Until 1918 the place in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, 39 inhabitants lived in Uhrovské Podhradie, 37 of them Slovaks and one Czech . One resident gave no information about ethnicity .
22 residents committed themselves to the Evangelical Church AB, 13 residents to the Roman Catholic Church. Four residents were non-denominational.
