Balázs Gőz ( Hungarian Gőz Balázs ; born August 3, 1992 in Miskolc ) is a Hungarian ice hockey player who has been playing for the Norfolk Admirals in the ECHL since the end of December 2017 .

Career

Balázs Gőz began his career in the youth division of Miskolci Jegesmedvék JSE in his hometown, from which he was already employed in the MOL league as a 16-year-old . From 2009 he played every second season abroad, but always returned to his home club in between. First he was on the ice in 2009/10 for the junior teams of the Quad City Flames and the Pittsburgh Penguins in the North American CSHL. In 2011/12 he played for the Helena Bighorns, with whom he won the America West Hockey League , and in 2013/14 he played for HC Morzine-Avoriaz in the Ligue Magnus . With the Miskolci Jegesmedvék JSE he won the triple of the MOL league, Hungarian national championship and cup competition in 2015 and 2016 . In 2017 it was enough for a double of MOL league victory and championship. He then moved to the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs in the Southern Professional Hockey League. On the last day of 2017, however, he turned his back on the club and joined the Norfolk Admirals from the ECHL .

International

For Hungary, Gőz initially took part in the 2010 U18 World Cup in Division I in the junior division. With the U20 selection , he took part in the 2011 and 2012 World Championships in Division II.

In the senior division, he played for Hungary at the World Championships in Division I in 2013 , 2015 , when the Magyars returned to the top division six years after relegation from the top division, and after being relegated there immediately without Gőz, in 2017 and 2018 . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
