history
The bank was founded on April 1, 1912 by the brothers Carl and Gustav Martin. After the Second World War , the Gebr. Martin bank was recognized as a foreign trade bank in 1948. The first computer was put into operation in 1962 - data processing is still done in-house today. In 1969 the bank joined the deposit protection fund of private banks.
On January 1, 2001, the bank, which had previously been run in the legal form of an open trading company , was converted into a non-listed stock corporation. All shares are in the hands of the Martin family.
