On the one hand, Barbara Reisinger's work comprises objects and installations of ceramic art that have been and are on view in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Europe and in renowned collections and museums. On the other hand, interior design projects in public buildings are part of her work.

The well-known art historian Anselm Wagner writes about her ceramic work: " In a playful way, Reisinger thematizes ... the old dilemma of ceramics between free and applied art, aesthetics and practical value by literally occupying this" between ". She thus acts in the field of art ( as a metalinguistic discourse), without leaving the field of ceramics. What she creates is a media criticism of ceramics and their history. Reisinger's objects achieve the self-reflective or self-critical moment by serving as a projection surface she is a three-dimensional object and image carrier in one, that is also in a figurative sense: carrier of meanings, ideas and fictions in a social, political and historical context ... Reisinger's ceramic objects play on a meta-level, and her piece is about the history of ceramics as a medium of social interaction. "
