Bartholomäus Kilian (born May 6, 1630 in Augsburg ; † January 11 or 15, 1696 there ) was a German draftsman and engraver.

Bartholomäus Kilian was the third son of the copper engraver Wolfgang Kilian (1581–1663). He was trained by his father and then apprenticed to Matthäus Merian in Frankfurt am Main and later to François de Poilly the elder in Paris for 3 years . At the age of 18 he had already made a portrait of Maria Magdalena. In Paris he worked on his own account from 1654 and made a crucifix and the Assumption of Mary. After returning to his homeland, he married Rosina Warenbergen in 1657, with whom he had a daughter who was later married to his pupil, the engraver Jacob Wilhelm Heckenauer (* 1696; † 1738). Kilian was married a second time. His wife, the merchant's daughter Elisabeth (née Müller) had given birth to seven children, only one of whom reached adulthood. The son became a trader.

Bartholomäus Kilian based his portraits on Gérard Edelinck and Robert Nanteuil . He portrayed a. a. 1681 Johann III. Sobieski and 1694 Emperor Joseph I .
