Bassella is a municipality in the Catalan comarca of Alt Urgell in the province of Lleida . It has 224 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) and is located at the confluence of the Segre and the Salada at the point where the road from Solsona to Cardona (the L-301) crosses the road from Lleida to La Seu d'Urgell . Due to the damming of the Rialb Reservoir, a large part of the community area of 70.25 km² was flooded.

The municipality includes nine localities:
- Aguilar (25 inhabitants), with the remains of the Aguilar de Bassella castle
- Altes (40 inhabitants), with the 19th century church of Sant Pere
- Bassella (17 inhabitants), with the parish church of La Mare de Déu de l'Assumpció, also known as the church of La Mare de Déu de la Garrola
- Castellnou de Bassella (7 inhabitants), seat of the municipal administration
- La Clua (18 inhabitants), situated on a hill, with a Romanesque church from the 12th century
- Guardiola (9 inhabitants), at the foot of the Pubill Mountains
- Mirambell (23 residents)
- Ogern (114 inhabitants), on the road to Solsona
- Serinyana (1 inhabitant)
